Turning the ship around

Nobody who takes the time to read this needs to be reminded of the Renegades’ dire slump that had players and fans alike sniping at each other last month. “Not enough defensemen, and the ones we have aren’t getting it done!”  “The players aren’t working hard enough!”  “The power play stinks!”  “This season’s going down the tubes fast!”

Christmas Rhyme

Twas the week before Christmas,

with three road games to play.

The Gades needed a boost

in the worst kinda way.

Their seven wins, two ties

and all the rest losses

had left frowns on the face

of the Renegades’ bosses....

They'll Be Here!

A few weeks before the SPHL season started, I asked Allan Harvie who would be handling the rough stuff on the ice for the Gades, since Goody seemingly had Richmond in his rear-view mirror. Without hesitating, he said “They’ll be here!”  I wondered to myself what that really meant....

Renegades Early Season Outlook

The Richmond Renegades’ second SPHL season is now well underway. Many changes have taken place since John Brophy last exited Richmond ice and set out to roam the earth with sandals and staff. Several rookie players complement a core of those returning from last year to form a new-look squad that has fans buzzing about the prospects for a successful and exciting 2007-08 campaign.
